Project Jumpstart Belize’s Feeding Program at San Antonio Government School has been serving children since 2022, providing two free meals each school day, five days a week. Our goal is simple: to ensure that children have access to nutritious meals so they can focus on learning, growing, and thriving.
More Than a Meal. A Path to a Brighter Future.
Before our Feeding Program began, many children at San Antonio Government School struggled with regular attendance, with hunger and food insecurity among the challenges they faced.
Since Project Jumpstart Belize launched the program in 2022, school attendance has risen to approximately 98–99%, and children continue to show up—even on rainy days—knowing that two free, nutritious meals are waiting for them.
For some children, these may be the only nutritious meals they receive that day. But the impact goes far beyond food. Children are staying in school, learning, and moving forward in their education. Since 2023, graduating students have continued on to high school, creating opportunities that once seemed out of reach.
This is what happens when we feed a child: we nourish their potential and help create a pathway to a brighter future.
